Thanksgiving Week

warning:  long post
We kicked off our Thanksgiving week with the Leika's program.  It started at 9:00 and being Wild Man's last year, Mother (myself) wanted to get a front row seat.  I got up an hour early (5:30) got myself ready and then the kiddos--Took baby to daycare and off Wiley and I went--7:30 is when I got my seat--Yep the 1st one, can you believe that?!! It may seem crazy, but it is a big deal~REAL big deal! Soon after (5 minutes later) other crazy Mother's started to pile in.

School started in September and within 2 months, our boy learned how to read and learned a very long Bible Verse...KJV I might add!!

Psalm 100

1 Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands. 2 Serve the Lord with gladness:  come before his presence with singing. 3 Know ye that the Lord he is God:  it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture. 4 Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise:  be thankful unto him, and bless his name. 5 For the Lord is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations.

For that I am truly thankful!

This year was our year to eat with Robin's parents.  Alright, listen closely~Robin's brother's wife's Mother hosted Thanksgiving at her house--confused?!  We were all assigned to bring something, which I LOVE because it isn't so much on any of us.  We had some tasty food and good company BUT unfortunately, here is the sad part...my hubby didn't get to join us~He had to "man" his crew at work because a BIG problem came up! Wouldn't ya know...THANKSGIVING! ugh---Can you imagine how frustrated he was, not to mention me :-( .  But we did it and survived without him.

After lunch, the kids and I headed over to my Aunts where my side of the family had lunch.  The have a beautiful yard, a barn and horses.  I am in for it because my baby girl is obsessed with horses, not to mention Wiley.  She screamed bloody murder when I took her off.  After Mallory took the saddle off and brushed him, we had to put Sissy back on bare back!  Thankfully they live about 5 miles from us, so maybe just maybe my kiddos will get a pony one DAY!

Nonetheless our afternoon consisted of a quick power nap and more cousin time!

My next post will be some of my favorite Christmas decorations.

love~

Happy Birthday Whitney

Happy Birthday Whitney! Beth hosted us in her lovely home for dinner (heavy appetizers) and a little craft project...Thanksgiving masterpiece centerpiece.

I snapped this before we put it all together

Karen was our "teacher" and talked us through step by step the proper way to assemble!

What a fun and special night we had celebrating one of the sweetest lady's I know!

Happy Birthday Whitney~Looking forward to many more!

Better late than never

I know I am about, well a month or two behind on this particular post.  But hey, its life and WE are living it.  October was super busy, the busiest I have ever experienced.  We started with the County Fair, Pumpkin Patch visits, FBC fall festival--more parties for me and the hubs!  Super fun month and now I am going to overload you with some pictures.

Wiley is presenting Dr. Light at the FBC Fall Festival a Mum-It is bigger than he is!

Not sure how this little guy did this, but after spinning him round and round he pinned  the tail PERFECT!

I just love the laughter these two share

A little play time at the Pearce's after trick or treating and yummy stew!

Beth really is the best hostess and thinks of it all! Pumpkin decorating station after dinner!

Leika's Halloween Parade 2011

This wraps up October!  I love getting Sam, Wiley and Cade in a picture--They have been big buddies since the 2 year old class!
This was a tearful (imagine that) event for me--It was my baby boy's LAST Leika's Halloween parade. I wasn't the only Momma that was sad (Beth) It is so hard to believe this is it!  The best part about the parade is the Kindergarten class gets to walk to all the downtown Drugstores and get candy! OHHHHH how I just love Leika's and what they have taught my child~

just because

This little buddy of mine has been super sweet and very very helpful to me!  Just a few funny things he has said lately!

  • While hanging ornaments, he found a picture of Rob and I...He said awe my cute Mom and Dad, let me hang this one! Robin and I both chuckled and he informed us that it was NOT funny that we were c.u.t.e.
  • "Alice, you say the cutest things"
  • Wiley check her diaper please----EWE it is hot and it stinks and it is all down her leg! STOP the car~
  • I have the best Mom and Dad
  • I am never getting married and will live at home with y'all forever...after I go to college
  • He is glad God gave him Robin for a Dad
  • When laying with Dad, he will keep him extra warm
  • While at Nana and Paw Paws on Mondays-- "I get the Paw Paw side"
  • Nana, I don't want to go to Dollar Tree and spend $5...I need my nap!
Wild Man you are such a joy and I love you so very much!

The last picture was taken at "Town Hall" as Wiley says.  His class at Leika's was invited to sing at the town Christmas Tree lighting!

A Turkey and Buddy's

Robin has a new hunting buddy and his name is Wiley! This is the first year that our son is really asked to go hunting.  I knew the time would come, but not this soon, that he would want to go with Daddy instead of hanging out with me! Talk about making a Momma sad :( Daddy hunts about 20 minutes from our house and after lunch we meet halfway at Old Cahawba for the swap!

The first picture Wiley said "Dad lets be cool and turn our hats around" and the second Dad talked him into just one more picture!

While these two went to the woods, my friend Mary Alise and her baby Lily came over.  Mary Alise and I have been great friends since we were in grammar school.  I had my first Alabama game experience with her and her sweet Daddy (3rd grade).  From spend the night parties, to Church functions and graduating High School together we have been great friends!  I wish I had more than one picture of our babies together, we didn't even think to get one of them Halloween night trick or treating!  I look forward to many more visits!

Lastly, Wiley had to disguise a turkey so he wouldn't get eaten this Thanksgiving! Can you guess what he and Dad disguised him as?

 You guessed it, a COWBOY!

Have a super week!

The Public Library

Wiley Boy and I usually hang out every.single.Friday. afternoon! A late lunch is always his choice~ Sonic, Taco Bell or El Ranchero.  A stroll to Carter's drugstore for a inexpensive treat or toy and maybe a candle for me! The Friday before Thanksgiving we decided we would walk over to the Library and spend some time before we picked baby up.  We played with blocks and he mastered building a Church and lastly we read a Thanksgiving book.

A few months ago, my friend Lauren, recommended that we check out The Magic Treehouse series.  Her little boy Teddy is a year older than Wiley and loves for her to read him a few chapters at night.  She knew we would love it too!  We checked out two books and Robin and I have been reading Midnight on the Moon and if I do say so, it is a great book!

Headed up to the Children's section

We had to check out the hamsters!

I asked him what he was building and his response "A Church" with a steeple and all!

His books~ We finished Midnight on the Moon today!
AND, did you know that you have to be SIX years old to have a library card? Wiley was a little sad that he didn't get a library card, but I let him use mine.  I definitely know what we will be doing in just a little over 2 months.

Firsts: Thanksgiving 2010

Last year was many firsts for our family!  Baby's first Thanksgiving and Wild Man's first time to swim on Thanksgiving Day.  It was HOT outside but the pool was a bit chilly.
