Fair Time

Every year the first week of October the Central Alabama Fair comes to Selma.  Its a very small fair, but just big enough for our kids to enjoy and not get overwhelmed.  This is the 2nd year that Wild Man has enjoyed riding all the big rides.  He rode rides this year that I probably wouldn't ride.  We just knew that Alice would love all the kiddie rides.  Well she did, but not until about 2 hours in.  She wanted to ride ALL the big rides with Wiley and just didn't understand yet why she couldn't.  I think we have our hands full!  Robin and I took turns on the Carousel.  I lost count after 8 times.

In the end Wiley was such a good sport riding the kiddie rides with his sister!

After stuffing our faces with Cozy Dogs, funnel cakes and cotton candy.  We called it a night and left at 9:30.

Time with friends

I love spending time with friends, friends from all over!  Whether painting, tailgating, emailing, texting or talking on the phone.  Wait...is that all forms of communication?!!!  I think it is!!
Robin has a guy that he buys chemicals from for work that gives me tickets every year to a Alabama game.  I am very thankful, but a little disgruntled that he will not go with me.  Seriously Robby Rob, you may be an Auburn fan, but you still could go with your wife---fan or no fan! pssssh please, when hell freezes over!!  With that being said I invited my friend Haley, aka Gaw-Gaw to my kids.  We met up with some Selma friends and tailgated a bit before the game.

We also celebrated birthdays in September with these sweet girls.  My Mom came and stepped us through painting a scarecrow door hanger! It was so much fun, we ate and painted!!

I am sorry of the quality, these are iPhone pictures because our camera was locked in our safe for sometime.  Living not at home was a struggle!!!

I love Whitney and Beth!  We stopped from serving pizza to take a picture.

If you know me, you know that I very seldom meet a stranger.  My friends Beth and Haley say that I know everybody.  On a normal day I do not pass a car that I don't know who is driving or wave to and that goes for the jip joint or grocery store.
Back a few months ago I stumbled across this BLOG.  I have no idea how I found it, but was drawn to it.  I commented on a post and she replied.  I remember I went to visit my sister in Birmingham and told her I wanted to go to Home Depot for a starburst mirror that I saw a girl post about.  Well it was Katie.  I bought the mirror that now hangs over our bed and Lea bought one too that is in her den.  To make a long story short, Katie and I started emailing.  Then started emailing a LOT, then we started texting some, well now we talk on the phone!  A day usually doesn't get bye us that we don't say HEY in some form or fashion.  Our husbands thought it was a little strange to say the least at first, but now they think its kinda normal!  We are so much alike, that it is w.e.i.r.d.  I love this girl and can't wait to meet her in "real life", hopefully after tax and turkey season! Even the husband says yes to a trip to S.C. because we have never been.
Here she is, maybe next time I post a picture of Katie I will be beside her!!
We are so thankful for all of our friends.  Especially over the last few months.  Things are almost back to normal here!

60

On September 18th, my Daddy turned 60.  Both the children love a party.  Alice normally tells everyone she sees Happy Birthday regardless if its their "day" or not.  Wiley worked so hard after school baking Paw Paw's cake, his favorite, CHOCOLATE!  The cake was loaded with candles as you can see from the glare.

Happy 60th Birthday to my Daddy and their Paw Paw

I'm Back

Hey y'all!  I have been on somewhat of a blog hiatus and for that I apologize.  A whole lot has happened over the past two months and I am about to fill you all in this week.

I'll start by sharing that our house flooded back on September 4th when the gi-normous amount of rainfall from Hurricane, well I can't remember his or her name ;)  Well we were at work when my neighbors called.  They thought the water was coming in from the doorway, WRONG.  We had sewage back-up in our house coming from the sinks and bathtubs.  Not to go into detail, BUT we had to move out and live with my grandmother.  Thankfully, she has a rather large house and we all had our own bedrooms, (well one room was empty because my girl slept with me) We decided after about 5 weeks we needed to come home, floors or no floors.  We still are living on the slab, but we are home and the house has been professionally cleaned!!  We hope to have new floors this week, although I have been saying that for 6 weeks now.  Dang contractors and insurance!  We lost a LOT of valuables including our laptop, all of Alice's baby dolls, all of there books, luggage, bath mats, bed skirts, my senior yearbook...you name it we lost it!  Think about what all you have on the floor and stored under beds (if you are like us and have no storage space)

This was  freak thing and we hope it never happens again!  See Robin had our sewer lines from our house to the road replaced about a year ago.  So, it is the city's fault that our man holes are not cleaned out properly because the line from our house to the street was brand NEW!

I am back and can't wait to update.

love

First Day of School

The first day of school was Wednesday, August 15th.  He went until 11:30 Wed, Thurs, and Friday to get aclimated to new things.  Monday starts a full day until 3:00.  He loves it so far and is eager to sit down with his Daddy for homework.  He says he loves P.E. and is already singing a cute song about a clock ticking and a tocking ;)

Robin and I walked him in the first day and I was okay.  I teared up walking in and was good when we left.  I had my heart in my pocket and he had his.  Last year during school we both kept hearts in our pockets, and when we felt it throughout the day we would think about eachother.  I think I clinched my heart all morning long, because I could not get him off my mind!

The second day I took him and as soon as I dropped him off in the carpool line, off he went.  I lost it and cried.cried hard.  All I could think about was that for four years, I had walked him up to his school and now he is BIG, big enough to walk in all.by.himself.  It is so weird driving the other way to school now.  It will take a lot of getting used to.

We are looking forward to a wonderful 2012-2013 school year with Mrs. Cosby and all the new memories we will be making, like his 1st Pep Rally and 1st High School football game!!  I'm excited too, to step back on my old stomping ground.

Meet the Teacher

Last Tuesday was meet the teacher day and take our school supplies!  Wiley was so excited to step foot on the campus of Morgan Academy, the school his Momma and Aunt Lea graduated from.  His teacher is Mrs. Cosby, and he couldn't be happier because he already has a wonderful relationship with her.  She was his teacher when he was 3 in Sunday School!

We are so proud of the young boy you are becoming Wiley and can't wait for all the new memories you are making in a new school. We love you so much, Momma

Auburn Fan Day

Last Sunday Robin and I took the kids to Auburn for Fan Day.  We met our friends The Ford Family! I haven't seen Shea in over 10  years probably, but feel like it was yesterday because we talk so much!

Wiley and Robin ventured off, while Shea and I took a very unhappy Alice outside for some fresh air and cheese puffs!  I enjoyed that mostly because we could catch up!!  I took as many pictures as I could and then left the husband with our camera.

Missing Alice, she was passed out in the car

This picture cracks us up, because she was crying. He said awe "the baby is crying, come here baby" She went to him and stopped crying, I stepped back and she lost it!

Wiley and Davis

I promise I still love Alabama (Roll Tide) BUT......I had to do this because I am out numbered here and.....Alice would not leave my side!
